The Christmas film drinking game 

This one makes for perfect pres for a Christmas party. Choose a Christmassy film with lots of troupes and cliches, or one where you and your partner share lots of inside jokes, and write down a checklist to drink to. With Home Alone, for example, it could be every time Kevin screams, whenever one of the thieves is injured, or every time one of you says ‘I’d love the house to be like that at Christmas…’

Make a Naughty or Nice list

This one can be taken as seriously or light-hearted as you’d like. Make a list of the naughty or nice things your partner has done this year and give consequences accordingly. Make it sexy and incorporate some cheeky punishments in there too. 

Get crafty!

There is nothing better than cosying up on a Sunday afternoon doing crafts. Put on Bridget Jones or Love Actually in the background and get creative. At Christmas, there’s an endless supply of crafts to do, whether you fancy painting baubles, drying fruit for a Christmas wreath, decorating Christmas cookies or even knitting a Christmas stocking. For those more competitive couples out there, give a special prize to the winner…it could even be that you don’t have to cook dinner that evening.

Go ice skating

There are endless places to ice skate this year. In London, visit Somerset House or Hampton Court Palace. Wrap up warm, hold hands and kiss under the fairy lights. A mulled wine or a hot chocolate is a must afterwards.

Have a gingerbread house competition

Cute, cheap and edible, this one is perfect for all types of couples. Put on something Christmas carols, get out all your leftover sweets and go crazy. Combine it with our Christmas cocktails night and you’ll find you’ve gobbled the lot by the time the night is out. If not, it’ll make a pretty decoration for the kitchen for a few weeks.

This one is for the boozers out there. Hot or cold, Christmas cocktails are a staple of the season. Maybe it’s a pre-drink before Christmas dinner or post-drinks with minced pies, these recipes are just for you. Go easy with a mulled wine or a sloe gin fizz, or stock up your alcohol stash with the more interesting gingerbread martini or an eggnog!

See a ballet

If you like a show, this Christmas get yourself tickets to a festive ballet, like The Nutcracker or Sleeping Beauty. Get a bit dressed up and go to a cosy pub beforehand too.

It’s official. Santa is sexy. Order yourself a little Mrs Claus dress or some sexy festive boxers and make them oh, oh, oh. 

Go late night Christmas shopping

For many, this can be a stressful experience. Instead, this year, slow it down, go with a loved one, goggle at the Christmas lights and get some marshmallows and chocolate at the end of it.
